where in the world does this happen

This place is amazing. I’ve never been to a place like it ever in my life, and after 6 months of going to one I have only just been enlightened.

Here standard social rules do not apply. It is acceptable firstly for men to wear vest tops in the middle of winter. I am not a fan of them for two reasons, number one, I cant wear one without looking like andy from little britain and secondly they are chavy. So all of a sudden all I can see are men with their ‘guns’ (different story) parading around. I really hate that this has exactly the desired effect of making people feel shit about their own body.

Number 2. Women. Now I have no problem with women going here clearly, but just how far do you go? Do you go every day, drink a protein shake every day and develop broader shoulders than most average men and then parade round in yes a vest top in order to show it off. Clearly you do here, and I have no idea why. Its not attractive infact its horrifically unattractive.

Number 3 and finally it will suck you in. Like I said 6 months is a relatively short amount of time to go here. But during that time I have built into my week specific moments when I will visit and I have to make it regular. Its pathetic thinking about it. Its becoming addictive as I work towards my targets set out by instructors.

And all of this would never happen outside of this place. But inside the gym it happens every day.

A bit of meaty blogging

I did think all I had done recently on here was reblog other peoples photos and quotes so I thought it was time for something mildly more personal.

I seem to be learning a lot at the moment. There really is a lot to learn out there, and no its not from text books. This is a different kind of education that only gets taught by every other person except yourself. I’m not going to be totally cringey and go the lesson of life but there is some truth in it. Learning how to get along with other people has been a big lesson. Sometimes there are just arseholes that you have to be around for various reasons, and there is nothing you can do about it. The hardest part is coming round to this realisation and doing something about it. I have found this near impossible and I have a fairly honest face thus not making it easy. Another lesson you never get taught at school is happiness. I have learnt what makes me happy recently and definitely what doesnt. I have a job I love and a job I hate, and you get to the point where you are just addicted to the job because it earns a bit of money. Money is a drug even if the government doesnt think so. Its addictive and bad for you. Reason enough?

So what I’m sort of getting at is I wish I knew what I know now 6 months ago. And yes I could just as easily repost this in 6 months and mean every word of it. Thats the kind of nice thing right?
